Backcountry Wine Tasting Room opens in Portland’s historic Ford Building

Jack Cranley’s Backcountry Wine Tours business has escorted thousands of wine tourists around the Willamette Valley and the Columbia River Gorge. Now he’s hoping wine lovers will drive themselves to his new Backcountry Wine Tasting Room in Southeast Portland.

Portland’s newest wine bar and bottle shop opened its doors Oct. 7. It is on the ground floor of the Ford Building, which was built in 1914 by the Ford Motor Company to assemble its famous Model-T automobiles. The Ford Building is between Southeast 10th and 11th Avenues, paralleling Division Street.
