The Oregon Department of Transportation has closed Interstate 84 in eastern Oregon early Thursday due to icy conditions and crashes east of Pendleton.
The freeway is closed in both directions from exit 216, six miles east of Pendleton to exit 265 east of La Grande. ODOT is reporting icy conditions that have contributed to crashes along the freeway.
The closure is expected to last several hours. Oregon 204/Tollgate Highway is also closed and cannot be used as an alternate route. Visit TripCheck.com to see current conditions.
