Johnny Bowers, 4-star defensive lineman, commits to Oregon Ducks



Oregon has landed another commitment on the line of scrimmage to its 2023 recruiting class.

Johnny Bowens, a four-star offensive lineman, out of Judson High School (Texas), committed to the Ducks on Thursday. Bowens chose Oregon over Texas and Texas A&M.

The 6-foot-3, 265-pound Bowens is the No. 41 defensive lineman and No. 295 overall prospect, according to 247Sports Composite.

Bowens is the 26th player to commit to Oregon’s class, joining quarterback Dante Moore, wide receivers Jurion Dickey and Ashton Cozart, cornerbacks Caleb Presley, Cole Martin and Collin Gill, defensive linemen Tevita Pome’e, Terrance Green and My’Keil Gardner, edge rushers Jaden Moore, Teitum Tuioti amd A’Mauri Washington, running back Dante Dowdell, safeties Kodi Decambra and Tyler Turner, linebackers Jerry Mixon and Blake Purchase, tight end Kenyon Sadiq, offensive linemen Bryce Boulton, Lipe Moala, Iapani Laloulu, George Silva and Gernorris Wilson, and preferred walk-ons kicker Grant Meadors and long snapper Nick Duzansky.

Oregon’s class remains No. 11 in the 247Sports Composite.
