Portland police have closed off Southeast 82nd Avenue between Division and Mills streets. It is not yet known what has happened to cause the closure.
Fire trucks, ambulances and police cars are parked near crime-scene tape strung along traffic-light poles a block from Harrison Park.
A Portland police officer denied a driver access to Harrison street at about 10:45 a.m., saying, “This is going to be closed for a long time. This is a crime scene.”
“We are working on confirming what is occurring and what has occurred there — it is still an active scene,” police spokesperson Terri Wallo Strauss told The Oregonian/OregonLive.
