The 2022 holiday season is upon us, which means it’s time for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, scheduled to take to the streets of New York City again on Thursday (Nov. 24). The 96th annual parade will again feature huge balloons, marching bands, musical performances, floats, and more.
(The 2022 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will air at 9 a.m. in all time zones on NBC, on Thursday, Nov. 24. You can livestream the parade on fubo TV, which offers a free trial. The parade will also stream live on Peacock.)
This year, viewers can expect to see the “Queen of Christmas,” Mariah Carey, who’s scheduled to sing her Yuletide hit, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” The entertainment lineup also includes Paula Abdul; Big Time Rush; Cam; Gloria, Sasha and Emily Estefan; Jimmy Fallon and The Roots, Fitz and the Tantrums; Kirk Franklin; Mario Lopez and family; Ziggy Marley; Miss America 2022 Emma Broyles; “Sesame Street” Muppets and cast members; Sean Paul; Joss Stone; Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue; Jordin Sparks; Dionne Warwick; Betty Who, and more.
And, as always, the biggest celebrity — Santa Claus himself — will show up near the end, as the Jolly Old Elf’s appearance marks the official beginning of the holiday season.
Regular viewers of the parade also know to expect performances from Broadway shows, and this year is no different. Among the scheduled guests are Lea Michele, who’s drawing raves for her work in the “Funny Girl” revival, and who will be joined by cast members.
Also on the schedule are musical numbers from “A Beautiful Noise,” “Some Like It Hot,” “The Lion King,” and some high-kicking choreography courtesy of the Radio City Rockettes, and many more performances from dance troupes, puppeteers, the Big Apple Circus, and others.
The 2022 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade airs from 9 a.m.-noon in all time zones on Thursday, Nov. 24.
