N’Faly Dante double-double leads Oregon men’s basketball past Florida A&M

Even if shorthanded, the Oregon Ducks’ core trio and supporting cast are talented enough to overmatch many teams.

N’Faly Dante had 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead four players in double-figures as the No. 21 Ducks defeated Florida A&M 80-45 Monday night at Matthew Knight Arena.

It was the fifth career double-double for Dante, a fourth-year junior, who made 7 of 11 shots from the floor and 2 of 4 from the free throw line.

Colorado transfer Keeshawn Barthelemy scored 10 of his 13 points in the first half for the Ducks, who took a 36-25 lead at halftime.

Fifth-year senior Will Richardson scored nine of his 11 points in the second half and added five rebounds and four assists. Nate Bittle scored all of his 10 pints in the second half for UO. It was the first career game scoring in double-figures for Bittle, a sophomore, who played at times with Dante or Kel’el Ware, all of whom are 7-footers.

Oregon shot 60.5% (23 of 38) from inside the arc, but just 24% from three-point range and 16 of 28 from the free throw line. However, the Ducks dominated the rebounding margin (44-26) and scored 21 points off 21 turnovers.

Jordan Tillmon and Jordan Chatman each had eight points for Florida A&M.
