Peacock Lane is back for 2022 with all its old traditions and a few new ones, too

Peacock Lane, the popular Portland holiday tradition, will return at full strength for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.

This means that the cocoa booth will be back for the first time since 2019. The booth will once again serve cocoa and hot cider. There is no charge for beverages, but donations are encouraged. Proceeds are given to charity.

The lane in Southeast Portland, dubbed ‘Portland’s Christmas Street’ back in 1932, is home to one of Portland’s largest and most popular holiday lights displays.

The lights will begin on Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. and continue through Dec. 31. Dec. 15, 16 and 17 will be car-free, pedestrian-only nights. On pedestrian-only nights temporary barricades will be up to prevent car traffic down the lane.

We took a walk down the lane last year to take in the more limited 2021 experience and it was still pretty impressive. Now, you can once again enjoy the lights with a hot drink in hand.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
