What’s going on in the trial?

Four family members, George “Billy” Wagner, Angela Wagner (wife), George Wagner (son), and Edward “Jake” Wagner (son) are being charged with the murders of a family of 8 in Pike County, Ohio. They are also being charged with burglary and aggravated assault, as well as conspiracy to commit a crime.

On April 22, 2016, 8 members of the Rhoden family were found shot in and around their four different homes. They were found by a former sister-in-law who proceeded to call 9-1-1, though it wasn’t until June 2017 that the former Ohio Attorney General, Mike DeWine, issued a public inquiry about the legal interest in the Wagner family. In 2018, journalists were finally allowed by the Supreme court to see autopsy documents of the murders.

In November 2018, the four Wagner family members were found connected to the murders and arrested, and now stand trial for murder in the Pike County Massacre Trial.
