
If you’re going to do something outside in the Portland area this weekend, today is probably the day to do it.
Saturday will be mostly cloudy with a high around 46 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Rain is likely overnight, and temperatures will stay pretty constant with a low of 42.
There is a 90% chance of rain Sunday with a forecasted high of 47 degrees. The snow level will start at about 3,900 feet before lowering to 2,6000 feet in the afternoon and 2,100 feet Sunday night. The Cascades are under a winter snow warning Saturday through Monday, with models predicting between one and two feet of snow, said Rebecca Muessle, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in Portland.
Early next week, the Portland area and the rest of the Willamette Valley will see temperatures plunge into the low 30s or upper 20s overnight as a large-scale cold system rolls in from Canada, Muessle said.
Portlanders will see a shot of cold weather on Tuesday, with rain and snow likely. The snow level is expected to start at 600 feet before rising to 1,300 feet in the afternoon. Rain and snow are forecast for the rest of the week with the snow level likely to drop to 300 feet, according to the National Weather Service.
