Readers respond: Garrett keeping festival vital

I have been attending OSF since 1997, first as an educator introducing students to the magic of live theater, and since the early 2000s with my wife on our annual pilgrimage to the festival. I am excited about the direction Nataki Garrett is taking the festival, (“In the face of criticism, Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s Nataki Garrett is building a company for the future,” Oct. 22).

Theater needs to be vital and relevant. We can only make sure this happens by being more inclusive, while at the same time respecting those upon whose shoulders we stand. Garrett is doing just that.
