The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that two men who’d been found dead in a wrecked vehicle earlier this week had been shot, and detectives are investigating their deaths as homicides.
The sheriff’s office said both men were from Multnomah County: Jamahl Akeem William Nash, 32, and Stanafurd Samuel Lee Blacknall, 42.
Their bodies were discovered shortly before 2 a.m. on Wednesday after the vehicle they were in crashed into a fire hydrant in the 16000 block of Southeast 122nd Avenue in unincorporated Clackamas County. Deputies who responded reported that the vehicle had been shot at and both men had gunshot wounds.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office determined Nash and Blacknall died by homicidal violence.
The sheriff’s office withheld their identities until Friday, after their families had been notified.
Detectives are seeking tips from the public. Anyone with information about the men’s activities and whereabouts in the hours leading up to the crash is asked to call the sheriff’s office tip line at 503-723-4949 or fill out a form at https://www.clackamas.us/sheriff/tip. The case reference number is CCSO Case #22-023139.
