Oregon coach Dan Lanning held his weekly press conference tonight to recap the loss to Washington and preview the matchup with the Utes.

— Expresses condolences to UVA for their losses today.
— Owns UW loss again.
— Not sharing updates on Bo Nix, Ryan Walk or Alex Forsyth but says what he heard was good
— “I wish I would have called a timeout based on the look we got” not just to put Nix in but because UW had 8 in the box.
— Says a lot of coaches had to take medicine in review too, not just players. Worked throughout Sunday, recruiting film review.
— “I’m a bad loser. I don’t ever handle it very well.”

— Says Alex Woods’ hit on Bo Nix was a play they asked Pac-12 for feedback on.
— On 62-yard TD: Wished safety rolled over.
— “We’re not playing well on defense right now.” Says some things that they’re “close” at. Parts everyone can do better. “It’s not acceptable. … We want to play better than we’re playing.”
— Utah is an aggressive defense. 12, 13 and 14 personnel on offense. Cam Rising is “relentless competitor.”
